Can the mercury leach out of it and harm my vegetables...? Things like tomatoes, cukes, etc. Will I get sick by eating them if they absorb the mercury...?

I realize this must sound a litle silly, but I'm serious, so serious answers only, please! Thanks!

Dental amalgam is a solution of silver in mercury. I was concerned about mercury poisoning so I asked my dentist about it. he said that he was exposed to more mercury working with it all day than I would be with it in my mouth. He said it was a fairly stable material. I have never lost a filling in the garden, but I have swallowed them. I would think that it would stay as stable in the soil as in my mouth or stomach.
