A plane is flying South (270 degrees) @ 500 km/h with a strong wind from east at 45 km/hour. Find the velocity of the plane in reference to the ground

It forms the legs of the right triangle. Thus the hypotenuse is:
sqrt(500^2 + 45^2) = 502 (km/h)

The camera should be focused on the image -- as if there was no mirror and the subject is in the position of the image.
