when I was looking at the beautiful full moon tonite in Indy, it looked like it was bobbing around. No, I'm not on drugs(not even an aspirin) and there was not one ounce of alcohol in me. Is that a normal optical illusion?

Possibly an optical illusino caused by wind or clouds or even pollution. Nope, not crazy...maybe even your eyes were just having a problem.

You are right... It does sound crazy.

Were the Moon to bobble around say 1/4 mile or so, up and down, the oceans of the Earth would go nuts. Floods would occur everywhere.

The only explanation I can think of is that there is no possible explanation for what you saw.
Atmospheric disturbances due to turbulence is very common while at the eyepiece of a telescope, but, in my experience, does not normally happen to unaided eyes.

Eye exam?
Maybe?

Your heart beat is an excllent answer from that first person. Also atmospheric disturbances but probably both.

Maybe it was your heartbeat making you bob around.
