I have a yellow bellied slider, red eared slider, diamondback terrepin and painted turtle. They live on my back deck in the summer for natural sunlight. My mom says they don't have to come in till it hits the 40's but I think they should come in when it hits 70. I love my babies and don't want them sick. When should I bring them back in?

Bring the turtles indoors if the temperature drops below 60oF (16 oC). I would be bringing mine in sooner then that. This would be safest bet. You don't want them slipping into hibernation.

I really don't know where you live but where I am the weather is so unpredictable at this time of year. I wouldn't take any chances

When nighttime temps are in the mid-60's, they should definitely come in, 70 would be better.

They would be o.k. down to about 40, since they are cold bloodied they just become inactive and would starve to death if left out, then eventually freeze would kill them.
