I think I may have the answer to that. Alexander was Aristotele's student. Aristotele was Plato's student. Plato wrote of Atlantis the lost continent. He wrote a book on that issue, now lost but Alexander was aware of this book and its contents. Of the known books on Atlantis Plato spoke of armies with elephants and a land being fertile twice a year. When Alexander reached India he fought armies with elephants and saw land being fertile twice a year. Historians speak of Alexander's wish to see the "eastern sea", and when Alexander reached the boundaries of India he thought that the Eastern sea was close and he was disapointed when he found out that the sea he wanted to see was further away. He captured castles in Afganistan that according to Greek Mythology even Hercules failled to capture. When Alexander advanced to India some Indian Kings let him pass through their realms. He did not conquer these kingdoms for two reasons: 1 it was impossible to keep them 2. it would take more time for him to reach the Eastern Ocean, which was his real goal. When Poros king of an Indian kingdom confronted Alexander and was defeated Alexander restored him to his throne and did not conquer his kingdom. This is not a typical behaviour of a conqueror. If Alexander had lived on he would probably carry on his dream i.e. to see the Eastern Ocean, because he believed that this Ocean covered Atlantis. Atlantis was not in the Atlantic Ocean like New York is not located in England. Alexander knew that being Aristotele's apprentice. He would probably reach today Indonesia. i.e. the East India. Bear in mind that in history there are two Indies not one, the one being today's India and the other Indonesia. Colombus when he thought he discovered the "West Indies" he meant Indonesia, because Indonesia was West to Spain had America not being in his way. Alexander could not establish his kingdom in India permanently dut to man power shortage, of which of course he was aware of. After fulfilling his dream he would have returned to Babylon and it depends of how old he would have been. He died at 33 given that he would need 3 years of preparing his army and perhaps 12 years of reaching Indonedia he would have been 47-50 years old had he survived this campaign. In his 50s he would have been tired and he probably would organise his empire and arrange his succession. He could have conquered Carthago, but I seriously doubt that he would march against Rome, since Rome was unimportant back then. Even if he did that in his 50s he probably would make an alliance with them than conquer them. There would have been no strategic reason to do anything else than that. Besides his so-called empire was something as a federation-empire than an empire as we mean it. Rome would become a member of Alexander's federation willingly given the many advantages this would give them at that time. If Alexander lived to age he would have been remembered probably as a great man, but the fact that he accomplished so much and died so young is why even today we keep wondering what else he would have accomplished, because we all can make speculations but no one can know for sure. There is a theory though that nothing happens by accident. And Alexander died when he was supposed to. Think of Napoleon, had he died before 1810 he would have remained in history as the Greatest European general of all times. But it seems that this was not his destiny after all. Because when you fight against everybody you cant win all the time.

alexander died shortly after annexing what is now afghanistan to his eastern empire.
no empire has ever successfully annexed afghanistan. the mughals failed to subdue it, it never settled as a british possession (it was the infamous 'north west frontier'), and when the russians tried to pacify it the soviet union began to collapse.
it is unlikely alexander could have further extended his empire in the east with as ungovernable an area as afghanistan to police.
if alexander had tried to expand his empire west he would have run into early republican rome. rome was not yet ready to become a world empire, but it might have proven more than alexander could take on (this may partly explain why alexander's campaigns all went eastward).
if alexander the great had lived longer we might not now remember him at all - or perhaps only the way we remember cyrus the great.

I'm sure that the news media would have started pointing out all the flaws and mistakes of his administration. Then everyone would have begun to hate him. Next thing you know, he would have been called Alexander the Has-Been.
He probably would have retired from public life. Maybe taken up consulting, or speaking at universities.

Well, as people say here, your guess is as good as mine, but in those times, people didn't live long
In the Roman empire, the life expectancy was approximately 40 years.
By the way, I am just mentioning a close statistic, I am not saying that Alex lived at that time and place
