For reasons more eloquently stated by earlier posters, the 2nd amendment. We need to be able to protect ourselves, even from our own Government.

Also, the first is important because not only do we have freedom OF religion, we have freedom FROM religion - the Gov't can not establish a 'state' religion; the implied flip side of that is or should be interpreted as no religion can control the Government.

Obviously, to those who understand the real world, the 2nd Admendment is the most important, because without its protection, your other rights will cease to exist. The 1st Admendment has already been deciminated, example certain words are now forbidden to be said or written, the N word which is a mainstay in the Black's lexicon is not permitted in certain mediums of media, however, it has the constitutional protection of the 1st Admendment, so in essence, we now have selective free speech. If the N word is banned, it should follow that the word "redneck" also be banned, and so and so forth. Most of our so-called rights are illusions. and democracy does not exist in this police state republic.

The right to be secure in your house and papers unless the authorities have a warrant. Oh wait thats gone, never mind.

The right to free speech, oh wait free speech zones

The right to a speedy trial, dang that seems to be gone as well, especially if Bush calls you an enemy combatant.

The right to hear the evidence and witnesses against you, unless of course Bush says that it is national secruity (but heck it is not like Bush would abuse that power right)

I guess I will say freedom of religion, unless it is not Muslim.

Can I get back to you on that?

The 2nd Amendment. Without it all the other rights would fade. Thomas Jefferson wrote that the real enemy is not a invading army, its inside us, within our own government. You have to be able to stop tyranny and that's hard to do unless you are armed.
