Don't believe everything you read.

It doesn't take a highly trained eye to spot distorted propaganda. I think the links you gave, are a little one sided.

I also believe that instead of imposing wishy washy liberal ideas on other cultures, we need to look more closely at our own!! It's hardly perfect is it?

EDIT: To the poster below, you are a little naive if you think Amnesty have nothing to benefit from their work. It's about time some people opened their eyes and learn to read between the lines!

I agree, it's disgusting. And, I'm glad you question Ahmadinejad's views on it. I wish he would answer or had the opportunity to answer your question. But I have to say that I think America is going about relations with Iran all wrong. If we are truly interested in human rights in Iran, and I am supposing that we are all on the same page with this issue, then I believe that we can attract more flies with honey than with vinegar. I think that Iran wants open relations with the U.S. But I do think the country's leaders feel threatened with U.S action in Iraq. A cornered animal that feels threatened is going to bite or worse. I believe diplomacy is a better approach. Why, because then these issues and other human rights issues can be addressed and solved. when you have no relations or beligerant relations with the country, then no issues get addressed and you get nothing but threats of more violence and war. All of which gets directed against mostly innocent children as well. All this B.S, threats, postering and war must end if we are going to move forward as a species, humanity and as people on this planet.

BTW... all your sources are very credible. Amnesty international does extensive research on human rights abuses around the world. i trust them to tell me the truth. They don't have anything to profit from this information. They are very very legit.

That is correct. Women who are raped in Iran have been executed on the theory that if they were truly virtuous they would have fought to the death against the rapist rather than permit themselves to be raped.

A woman who survives a rape in Iran is considered to be guilty of adultery for failing to offer sufficient resistance to the rape.

This was recently an issue for a woman in Iran who was on death row and who was sentenced to be stoned to death for committing adultery.

The adultery that she is supposed to have committed is the fact that she was raped and failed to fight sufficiently to prevent the rape.

you should do a little more research.
Iran just banned abortion about 6 months ago.
Why would they ever do anything you claimed with very unsound evidence, and then ban abortion?

Funny how those sites you listed always want you to send them money just for them to post an online petition.
Better learn to spot a charity scam!

I never heard that children in Iran are being raped. However you can hear and see on everyday news about children's rape in the US. There are no sexual perverts in Iran, but plenty of them in the US.

I think you may have misunderstood your source material. They are discussing executions of children who have (allegedly) committed crime. I did not see one reliable source discussing children being capitally punished for being sexually assaulted.

**EDIT**

I'm afraid you cited sources that are/were incomplete or inaccurate. Adult women have been subject to punishment for being assaulted, I am well aware of that happening. But you directly mention children being executed. The whole notion of a person being punished for not fighting to the death to protect their honour does not commute to children.

Please, don't believe every piece of propaganda you read. Also cite proper sources.
