Allan, don't get me started on this.

I find it so revolting that, on one hand, there is this convicted plunderer who has the gall to demand the terms of his pardon, insisting that he will only accept pardon if it is crystal clear he doesn't have to admit guilt.

On the other hand, it makes me puke that the government officials are falling all over themselves crafting, drafting, offering absolute and unconditional pardon to the convicted plunderer, even before the decision becomes final and executory

And there are people in jail who have been used as exhibits of our fair and equitable "justice system", people who got caught with their pants down while dipping their tiny hands in the cookie jar.

It has been said in the papers that the incumbent wants to show compassion pronto, hoping that the next president will be equally compassionate to her and her family when she is out of power and all the deals are exposed.

And so how will the lowly Filipinos learn about honesty, transparency, and fairness from their leaders? It's about time we show them, and show them we are mad with this farce.

From the perspective of the powerful: I can do anything. And why only 1 billion? Cheap!

From the perspective of the small fish: I have been so underpaid and yet those who do nothing significant get all of the money. I need to get this, my share.

this question makes no sense. now it said one billion plus jail time or one million and off scot free. then i go with the million route. i rather not have to be worried about getting "married" in jail

What you are really asking is, is it better to be a politician with a pardon, or a criminal with jail time.

no choice! what's better with the two?! whatever is the amount involved, it is still stealing.. and if we Filipinos will continue to have this attitude of looking at better positions/options in getting out of the consequences and punishments, our country will never prosper...we need moral healing and that has to start from ourselves..

crime, apprehension, legal proceedings, convictions, then pardon, this makes more filipinos distrust the laws of the country.
as Alfredo lim says "the law applies to all, otherwise none at all"
