I'm pregnant with my second daughter (first is 4 yr old Lizzie) and I just ran into the name 'Cosette'. Her full name would be Madeline Cosette Potter. I think it sounds elegant, but do you like it? What should be changed, if anything?
Thanks for your opinions!

Yes, most of my heritage is French, as is my husband's- my gramma still speaks fluent French, and I'm trying to integrate that into my daughter's lifes.
That is one of the main reasons I just love this name.

It's very pretty. Cosette is a character in Les Miserables, so I suspect that many people will find the name familiar. And Madeline Cosette has a nice, consistent feel to it - both French, but not Fifi-French. Plus, Lizzie and Maddie sound like sisters.
I wouldn't change a thing.

Simply put, classically adorable. ;)
I personally have an unshakable association with Cosette -- manages to bring to mind a corset, every time LOL -- but I'm sure most don't have that issue. And of course, the French roots are an added bonus for you, so I think it's most certainly a great choice. My only other concern would be the double Ts so close to those in Potter, but as the middle name, I don't think it that problematic.
Likely a lovely choice for you. ;)

i love the name madeline, but i don't think cosette would be right. i don't know what might be a good change, but maybe madeline elizabeth or something. all in all it's a pretty name.

If you're not intimately familiar with Les Miserables, then don't bother. It just sounds pretentious. And Madeline and its various forms (Madalyn, Madison) is way too trendy right now.

Wow....I really like that. Those are two names that are unique, but not trendy. The name is very French to me too? Are you french? If so, it fits well with your heritage.
Very classic and sophisticated.
