to be totally objective? Probably not possible. We are all influenced by something, even if it's on a sub-conscious level. But that’s the purpose of life – you know, to collect knowledge and experience and use that to base our judgments on. Just my opinion. Everything's subjective.

TOTALLY objective? Possibly, but you don't always need total objectivity, just enough to keep your personal biases from changing your conclusions.
Certainly there are times when subjective is better. For instance, when you're trying to decide what to have for lunch, or when you're trying to see things from another's point of view. In the example of lunch, you can have something nutritious or something tasty, something fast & convenient or something elegant. There is no right or wrong answer, it all just depends on what you personally value at the time.

No such thing as being totally objective because if you say that you are, then you wouldn't object to the fact that you're totally objective.
Then, you'd concur instead of object which would then be proof that you are not totally objective. Ah, what a tangled web we weave. :) You get a star on this one!

Nobody is objective. We try and try but we will don't be for ever. Sometimes if you are subjective it is better for you and the others. Experience proves that

Intersubjectivity makes this an impossibility. When our culture and society also carries the same beliefs, it becomes extremely difficult to root out information and beliefs.
Meeting so many people for different nations and different cultures, I have a better understanding of how commonly held beliefs can be easily disputed.
Looking for contradictory evidence is usually effective in disproving what is considered to be an objective opinion or assessment.

it's possible if someone doesn't have feelings, but since no one is that numb, then total objectivity does not exist.

No, I don't think that it is ever possible to be totally anything except being human. I think that what makes each of us unique is the short percentage that are added into the aspects of our reality such as decisions.

We are a product of our environment, education, emoitions, heritage and a whole bunch of other defining thingies....
We no two can look at the same thing and see it exactly alike no matter how hard we try.
It is part of our nature.
