My current computer specs.
Intel Pentium 4 524 (HT) @ 3067 MHz
My Memory is Xerox 256 MB PC2100 DDR
My motherboard is Intel D101GGC
And I have a 30 something gig hd, dun no what speed it is.

What I want to do is buy a new hard drive, probably a WD 7200 rpm SATA 3.0gb (will this work with my motherboard?)

Than i plan to get 1 gig memory DDR 400 added to my 256 which is PC 2100. Is it better if I get 512 x2 DDR 400 (throwing out the 256; or get 1 gig pc3200 added to a slower speed 256 pc2100.

Which is better for my memory choice? 512 x2 pc3200 or 1g pc3200 + 256 pc 2100

ALSO is this a good upgrade or should i just get another PC??

That's your motherboard. It will just run that WD drive at SATA 1.5Gb/sec, still pretty fast.

Junk your old and SLOW RAM and put in 2x512mb PC3200. Running PC2100 side by side w/ PC3200 will just synchronize speed of BOTH to PC2100. Add a bang for the buck PCIe graphics card like this and that PC would still be in good shape:

Honestly id just get another PC
SATA 3.0 depends do you have a SATA 3.0 motherboard?
SATA 3.0 on a sata 150 you need a jumper to set your 3.0 to 150 kinda pointless uh huh......
I dont think they make pc2100 anymore. But anyway 2x512mb pc3200 would be the way to go.

Looks to me like your motherboard only supports SATA up to 1.5gbs. So a 3.0 will not work. Well it will work, but will only operate at 1.5. Also depends on the motherboard if it supports multiple speeds.
