Reptiles are cold blooded, and therefore need heat to function.

They don't sweat, but they have a way of "regulating" their body temperature by gaping, sort of like panting how a dog does.

Most are fast movers, but it depends on the type.

All animals need to rest at some point, so they aren't moving 24/7. Most of my herps just lay about all day :P So lazy.

And as for their vision, again it depends on the type. A chameleon would have better vision than a bearded dragon, for example.

All reptiles need heat. They are cold-blooded (can't produce body heat) In order to control their body temp, they have to move to an area with a comfortable temp (ex: into the shade if too warm) No they don't sweat.

Not all reptiles are fast. Most have fast reactions when startled. The majority rely on the element of surprise when hunting and attack in one swift acurate movement. The majority of reptiles can move incredibly fast if necessary. If they can avoid it, they're not going to use the energy though. I haven't read about any reptiles that would move around a lot for no particular reason. If it's trying to escape from something, it'll first try to flee and hide. If prevented, it'll fight. Reptiles generally don't have dramatic chase scenes like lions and such. A bearded dragon, for example, might scamper to and fro if it finds a horde of insects, but generally it won't go dashing around.

The vision depends on the repitile. Many lizards have amazing vision. Most snakes tend not to. They rely on their strong sense of smell and keen ability to sense the tiniest vibrations (they have no ears) Certain kinds, like ball pythons, have tiny holes on their upper lips that are believed to be "heat sensors". Pretty snazzy. ^.^

1. They like warmth- but few reptiles like high heat. They can only cool off by finding a cooler site.

2. They do not sweat.

3. They are capable of bursts of speed, but not much distance or endurance. Much of their speed is an illusion- snakes, for example, are generally only capable of about 8mph- which LOOKS a lot faster in grass or brush.

4. They get tired quickly. Being ectothermic (the proper term for 'cold blooded' means they do not have the energy reserves mammals store in fatty layers.

5. Vision is about the same as humans or a bit worse. They rarely see a wide range of colors, or much for distance. Some reptiles do not use vision so much as they do scent or other senses.

They are cold blooded. (look into it)

This makes them like heat because heat keeps them alive and active.

They do not sweat that I know of. (Herpetologists?)

Some are lightning fast (certain cobra's come to mind) and others are slowwww (tortise).

Everyone needs rest! Even reptiles.

From what I have heard, reptiles vision is widely varied dependent on species. Some have quite good vision and other rely more on other senses to help them on their way.

Good luck!
