Their heads have evolved over time to be smaller so the little crown's they get at beauty pageants/Miss world competition's are a better fit.

Women DO in fact have smaller brains than men. Further, when one transitions from male to female (as I did) the brain shrinks. And no, I didn't get dumber.
As to why, all the people who said more efficient are absolutely right! Women's brains run cooler than men's because women's bodies run cooler than men's do. So men have to get rid of that excess heat some how. But men don't have much different surface area (that is, skin) to get rid of it. So their brains are bigger to bring more blood into the head so it can cool. Heads are VERY efficient radiators.
Fact: 50% of your body heat escapes through your head.
Edit: The people who said that women have a larger brain are talking relatine to the woman's body size, not in absolute terms like I am. So there's no contradiction here.

In actual size, women tend to have smaller brains because women tend to be smaller than men, just like an elephant has a larger brain than humans. The actual brain size has nothing to do with intelligence. What matters is brain to body size ratio, in which there is virtually no difference between women and men, although women came out slightly ahead.

Because men are generally larger in size then women. Everything on a man is, on average, larger including the skull. Increase cranial capacity creates more space for there to be a bigger brain.

LMAO. Because you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. In fact, women have a larger brain than men do. We have TWO regions of our brain very well developed: one responsible for logical thinking and another for emotional responses, verses male's logical thinking region ONLY. Now, does it have anything to do with evolution... what do YOU think?.. lol

Because woman can hold more in small places. Men need room in their brains to let their thoughts bounce around a bit.

actually women have larger brains, but brain size has nothing to do with intellgence. women are smarter in some fields, men are smarter in others. and there are always exceptions.

scientifically, women are considered smarter, but the men have bigger brains. they have no connection so i guess it's probably just evolution :] i think evolution is really cool. apparently, primates came from fish. so we were once fish! lol.
