Ex boyfriend Marries My Physical Clone?

Question

I just found out from an old friend that my ex boyfriend (of two years), recently married. I saw some of the wedding photos, I was freaked cause she looks exactly like me. Other friends think its weird too. My ex never had a physical "type" & he had a hard time committing. He left another ex girlfriend standing at the alter, not once, but twice. I left him because he was dishonest and treated me very badly & we did share a really intense personal event that will be with both us forever, making it harder to "forget". He wanted to work it out, said he felt bad for how he treated me, but in the end, he could not turn it around. When I left him, I ended cold turkey, & talked to him only twice about separation stuff. I cut the ties off with him and never contacted or spoke to him again. I am now not sure if he got over it, or me. I'm happy he is married, but just can't get over the fact that the wife looks identical to me. Any thoughts on this?

well it seems you are my cyber clone, because i had this thing happening twice and i didn't care bc as you said i was the one to end it cold turkey bc these 'gentlemen' were not that gentle. what do you care? you should be proud and he's pathetic. couldn't have you bc he was crap and found someone who looks like you but can stand him. hello! you re on your way to something better and he's with the replica. end of the story.

I think his wedding vows were probably shorter than your question. I think you need to believe he wanted you and only settled for a look a like. I think you have a lot of baggage on this page for someone who supposedly dropped him "cold turkey" I think I'd be surprised to find him asking strangers questions that are related to your life. I think you need to let go and get over him. I think maybe he liked how you look but not the rest of you so much

I don't think it's unusual. I think he's obviously physically, if not emotionally attracted to a certain type. (Maybe he DIDN'T know that type till he met you.) My brother always went for the same dark hair, brown eyes and all the girls he dated were reasonably close in build. If you lined the pictures up they'd look like sisters. I read somewhere once that it wouldn't be unusual if the girls a guy picks closely resemble a female family member such as their mother.

You probably aren't half as freaked out as his new wife would be. However if you truly severed all ties I wouldn't dwell too much on what he is doing or why it's not your concern anymore.

So what? Why do you care now about some one who you broke up with? He's moved on with his life and you should too. She isn't you! Unless some where in your heart you miss him and you wish that was you in the picture with him. Search your feelings.

I have heard of this before. But, just because she looks like you doesn't mean she acts like you. It may be a comfort thing for him in finding someone who looks like you.

I that think is pretty common. Subconsciously, he may be trying to recreate his marriage with you, but this time he's trying to get it right.
