Are there any effects of taking one birth control pill and then stopping it?

I took the day 1 pill from the ortho tri cyclen pack and have decided to discontinue the pill for various reasons. This was my first and only birth control pill and I took it on the first day of my period which has been regular for the last few months.What effects if any will this have on my cycle?
