I was in English and we were prepping for a new book, Fall Angels. She asked how many people died in Vietnam. I said "60,000". A girl says "b****h, how come you know all the answers". I said "shut up". She said "You shut the f***k up".
Why did she do that?

umm probably because she thought you came off as a know it all... for future reference people hate it when u pretend or really do know all the answers. Its like if I came up to u and was like "Did you know that the Atlas mountains are in South america or that the Ozone hole is above Australia?"
You would find it annoying and stupid...especially if you didn't kno that stuff. Otherwise, the girl could just have been having a bad day. warning: This doesn't mean you should feel that you need to hide your intellectual insight. And if you get tired of it...move into honors classes where everyones smart like you...thats what I did...it helps your college resume and it helps you.

Not jealousy.
It's personal insecurity most likely... Meaning that she's tried to learn things, and just can't grasp it all... Whenever you always answer the questions, it comes off as being a 'know-it-all'. It seems as if you're just trying to rub it in others' faces that you know it and they don't. =-)
I was one of those. (Ambiguity?)

Because she didn't know herself, and, as a natural defense of her pride, she lashes out at you.
