"A" is racist and ethnocentric. The Native people in the America's had very rich cultures and religion!

"B" European explorers seldom found just what they were looking for. Many of them came here for the mounds of gold they heard about in Europe and were shocked to find it wasn't here.

"C" Europeans didn't have an open mind. They looked at Native people very negatively. After all, the Europeans that came here were Christians and the Native people weren't, so in the minds of the Euro's the Natives were all savages. They looked down upon the Natives even when the Native people were saving their lives in many instances.

"D" is the closest to being right. However, many European explorers landed on the shore, not quite sure where they were and the Native people came up to them.

So in your assignment write down "D" but make sure you can explain to your teacher why A, B and C are wrong.

I'm a teacher, trust me LOL.
