I personally think it was the match between Hogan and Andre. That wasn't a great match but it was considered a passing of the torch match and Hogans career really took off because of it. Many people including myself will argue that if it wasn't for Hogan, wrestling wouldn't be what it is today.

Please tell everyone what YOU think is the most important moment in wrestling history and why.

I think you're probably right. That match captured everyone's imagination like few before or since. Gorilla Monsoon's "Irresistible Force meets the Immovable Object" quote described it perfectly.

The night Hulk Hogan turned heel and joined the nWo would be second. No one, NO ONE saw it coming, and it lead to Nitro dominating the ratings for a long time. It was the ultimate swerve. Hulk Hogan turning heel and telling the fans to stick it? My jaw dropped, and I still smile when I think back to it.

The third would be Vince McMahon and the Montreal Screwjob. I'm a huge fan of Bret Hart and hate to say it, but that launched the character of Mr. McMahon. Without that, who knows what Steve Austin, Raw, and WWF/E would have been? If that hadn't happened, we might be watching Monday Night Nitro with Jeff Jarrett taking on Triple H! That was also the true beginning of the Attitude Era.

When Hulk Hogan Slammed Andre The Giant

I agree with you because Hogan's victory signified the change of an era and the most prosperous and most popular eras in their history. Hogan and his charisma brought more people back and new people in to see professional wrestling. He was the consummate entertainer and people could relate to him better than Andre the Giant. Andre was well liked and I liked Andre but Hogan expressed them for the generation that truly influenced a comeback to the wrestling scene whether he was a hero or a villian as Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

Firstly, When
Ron Simmons teamed up with Butch Reed to form Doom. Doom defeated The Steiner Brothers for the NWA World Tag Team Championship and were recognized as the first (Black) holders of the WCW World Tag Team Championship in January 1991.

That Moment opened ALOT of Doors for African Americans.

Then Andre-Hogan.

The curtain call incident. HHH was supposed to win the king of the ring, but instead he lost to jake the snake. It ended up with Austin saying Austin 3:16 and the attitude era began. Yours is also a good moment that changed history.

For me, when Rikidozan was killed and left Giant Baba to become Japan's new wrestling hero. For American wrestling, probably when Gorgeous George made his debut, or when WWF seperated itself from the NWA after Rogers wasn't allowed to keep the NWA title.

"Many people including myself will argue that if it wasn't for Hogan, wrestling wouldn't be what it is today".
Hogan made wrestling suck? I myself would be more than happy just watching NWA, a bunch of independant promotions and Japanese wrestling, which is what I do now anyway.

At King Of The Ring when Stone Cold won and at the backstage interview, he said to Jake the Snake Roberts, " Austin 3:16 says I just whopped your ***!" and the Attitude Era began.

Stone Cold vs. Bret Hart at WM13

despite stone cold being a heel and losing the match, he was cheered by the fans. for the first time ever a heel was the fan favorite....this brough wwe in a complete new direction and led them to the attitude era, in which the cocky, arragont SOB's were the moneymakers.

not to mention it was also the greatest match in WWE history.

For me and in my opinion when Rey Mystrrio won the world heavy weight championship title , that was a true cinderella story moment, and my all time favorite is a tie when Batista slammed Triple H through the table to go over to smackdown
and when he took his title back from Khali at unforgiven I actually cried I was so happy for him on that one .
