Taser would be the acronym.

According to Taser.com: "... The name stems from an acronym created by the original inventor of TASER technology... Jack's favorite book character is Tom Swift of the Tom Swift Series, authored by Victor Appleton in 1910-1941. One of the books, TOM SWIFT AND HIS ELECTRIC RIFLE, inspired Jack to create the acronym TASER."

The electric police weapon called the Taser was so named after Thomas A. Swift Electric Rifle. The "A" is gratuitous; the character's middle name was never provided.
