you should be able to touch and hold them straight away i remember when i was a little kid and our cat had kittens we my brother and i were holding them straight away our cat didnt mind either so it should be fine if your cat dosnt mind have fun!

as sooon as they dry off- if you only do it in moderation- stay on the same level as momma cat- pet them as they are nursing. its ok. just dont over do it- but you can let them know youre there. its fine. be gentle of course. i wouldnt hold them for a couple of days but if you do- like i said gentle! and let momma know its ok- if she gets upset- listen to her- put baby back nnext to her and try again maybe in a couple more days.

but as long as mommy is fine with it- and you keep baby warm and comfy- why would it be a problem?

if baby stops eating or mom looks as if she is rejecting baby for some reason- go to the vet and he'll get you the advice you need- and the food for baby- but i swear- your cat is weird- or something else triggered that response- not you.

I believe about 10 days old or when they open their eyes.

Do not remove them from the mother's sight, and only hold them for 10-15 minutes at a time.

Wait until all their eyes are open. They need mom's undivided attention until then, since they are blind, and being picked up by a giant is scary, especially when you can't see what's happening! Also lets their immune systems mature a bit.
