It really depends on my mood. I like pretty much all the genres and am more concerned about the quality of the script and acting ability of the principles than which genre but, if I had to pick only one, I love good horror movies.

Not ones that rely on guts and gore to get a reaction but the suspenseful ones that keep you wondering what is going to happen next and where you like the hero and/or heroine and feel good that they manage to escape the demon, werewolf, zombie, vampire, serial killer or whatever.

One of my all-time favorite movies is SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. Not only did you have a serial killer on the loose skinning fat girls but you had a genius psychopath, Hannibal the Cannibal, and the mindgames that he was playing with Agent Starling. Who couldn't love Clarice Starling? Jodie Foster gave a first rate performance! As did Anthony Hopkins!

On the other hand, I also loved 1408 (which will be coming out on DVD in a couple of weeks) with John Cusack as the writer trapped in the demonically possessed hotel room and Samuel L. Jackson as the hotel manager who obviously knew a lot more than he was letting on.

But I love all genres, comedy, romance, Western, sci-fi, historical, war movies, cop shows, you name it.

The good old fashioned, (now politically incorrect) Cowboy and Indian movies where a 6 shot revolver never needed to be reloaded, unless the scene called for it to be reloaded so an Indian could jump on him.
The Indians never ran out of arrows, and always had a few in there quivers and they had let loose dozens.
Oh to be a kid again.

I'm a horror buff. I prefer ghost movies. I think they're the most believable. gore and zombies aren't really my thing. thrillers and comedies are always good too.

If i had to pick just one I would have to say suspence. I really love action adventure too. I am less picky about my aa or comedy then I am about my suspence or horror. I love a good horror film not a slasher flick.
