I amazes me how you can turn war into a financial issue! Here are some facts: Our economy grew during the Iraq war, our value as an international economy has grown. Nothing has really changed with our debt. Your real question is why are we allowing our people to die and become disabled in a war we don't understand.... You should just say what you mean and not speak of issues that do not help your cause. Also, just so you know: Our National Debt is over 9 trillion, and we only pay interest on it!!!

Cut Welfare and all that since your too lazy to work you don't have to, BS. That's were trillions upon trillions of our tax dollars go. Soldiers get wounded and killed in combat. Soldiers get wounded and killed in training. Little old grannies get wounded and killed in car accidents on the way to the grocery store. Debt of 1/2 trillion is a flash in the pan for a world superpower. We spend more than that just to make sure our taxes go to the right places. What is sad is that we won't support the soldiers just because liberals have a vendetta against George Bush.

The same way we paid for the WWII and Vietnam War debt. The economy grows and the debt becomes trivial. And even though it is a record in terms of raw dollars, it is nowhere near a record in terms of percent of GDP

As for showing coffins, I wish they would show the coffins of the 40,000 people killed in car accidents in the U.S. each year. But hey, that's something that we as individuals can do something about but since the blame falls on us, it's easier to look of problems elsewhere.
