I have some kind of painful swelling I don't know what it is, just under my breasts. I'm no doctor but it seems like there's some kind of fluid build up, I don't know. It's painful to touch and increases when I have my period. Of course I'm worried about cancer, but considering it's painful I'm hoping it's something else.
I'm gonna see a doctor but I'm trying to ease my fears in the meantime.

I actually had something that sounds like this back in June. I am 60 yrs old so I'm through with periods, yaa! Anyway I went to the doctor when I woke one morning and my pulse rate was 120. It wouldn't go down. I am not in the best of shape but it felt like my heart was going to come through my chest. After two hours and my heart rate went to 150 I finally called the doctors. They could fit me in at 2:30pm. It didn't stop and I was scared. When I got to there office my heart rate was 146. When he pushed on the area under my breasts it hurt, then I remember that I had soreness there for a while. To make a long and expensive story shorter, he felt it was my gall bladder but he pointed out that my liver, pancreas, and gall bladder all come together right there. It ended up being fatty liver disease, my liver had grown as large as it could without bursting the shell thing that it is encased in. That was brought on by my high cholesterol which was 279. He put me on Crestor and a month later my cholesterol was down to 155. Mine was genetic and I will probably be on some drug the rest of my life. Don't panic, like I said many organs come together in that location, so some tests may be in order. I wish you lots of luck and I hope it is something minor.

I would see a doctor as soon as possible. Women do have lots of glands in that region, so you may just have a blocked gland that needs treatment. Or, if you've been hit there either by accident or abuse, you can get a contusion, which would be a build up of blood. Try not to irritate it until you can go and see a doctor.

I found this on webmd.com...

Breast lumps or changes are a common health worry for most women. Women may have many kinds of breast lumps and other breast changes throughout their lives, including changes that occur with menstrual periods, pregnancy, and aging. Most breast lumps and breast changes are normal.

Common, noncancerous (benign) breast changes include:

Sacs filled with fluids (cysts).
Generalized breast lumpiness.
Painless, movable, and firm round lumps (fibroadenomas).
Damaged fatty tissue (fat necrosis).
Growths inside the ducts (intraductal papillomas).
Enlargement of lymph nodes in the breast.
Breast pain (mastalgia).
Breast infections (mastitis) or abscesses.
Nipple discharge.
Inflamed blood vessels (thrombophlebitis).

... Go to the source website below to click on the medical terms next to the symptoms to find out more information on each one. I hope this gives you more information and helps ease your fears. Best of luck.

It is probably related to your hormones... which is not good news. Things like that tend to be cancerous, or at the very least, cystic. DO you have any other symptoms? Good idea to get checked out!

It might be some thing gastointestinal. You could try going onto a vegetarian diet with no milk for one week and see if it improves your symptoms. But see your doctor ASAP.

There is such a thing as a "water tumor", but you should see a doctor to make sure, that is what it is.
