If for example I want to log on to myspace, when I type in my username, my password automatically comes up (must have clicked remember me at some point). Password is of course in asterisks. Where on my computer can I find that password. ( I don't remember it and don't want to register a new one). Somewhere windows must be storing these passwords. Please tell me where?

The passwords stored by IE are stored in encrypted form, and actually are located in the registry of the system. There are third party tools you could use to attempt to recover them.

It is much less of a hassle to register again than to purchase password recovery software, learn how to use it, and then apply what you learned to recover it. That is my humble opinion anyway. I suppose it depends upon what type of account it is and what type of material you store or access there. If it is just a site you log on to post comments etc, by all means reregister. Sure, you will also have to get a new user name or nickname, and it might take the other user a little catching up with your new name, but it is cheaper than the alternative.

If you do decide to go with the password recovery method, just type that into the search box of your browser and you will find plenty of sites to review before making a purchase.

What a bother to forget a password!! I forgot my husbands email account password and had to create an entirely new account because we were totally locked out of that first one. It was a real bother because the address we choose was very much his preference, one he had been using at a different ISP for years and so really wanted to keep it when we opened his Yahoo! mail account. Oh, well, things happen!

Good luck and have a nice day.
