Is the 2nd book as good as the first one?? I just finished the first one and it was AWESOME!!!! It was easy to understand and it was the best book I've read since Harry Potter. Also, I was wondering, will they have a movie for it??

I thought it was just as good if not better! They continue to be easy to read and very entertaining as Darren learns more about the vampire's way of life. I'm sure you'll really enjoy the rest of the series! The first 3 in the saga are actually my favorite!Yes, they are planning on having a movie based on it however, at the moment it is still in pre production and has been for a year or so now. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450405/
They have yet to cast actors but they have the director and writers.

it's almost as good as the first one, but not quite. As a whole, though, the series gets better and better as Darren Shan becomes a more experienced writer. my favorites were cirque du freak, trials of death, killers of the dawn, and sons of destiny. Also check out his new series, the Demonata. They are a lot darker and more horror-oriented than the Cirque series, and are just amazing books. Starts with Lord Loss, then the Demon Thief, then Slawter, and then Bec. They are some of the best books i have read in my life.

In my opinion, the second one is the weakest in the series. And it's all uphill from there!
I particularly enjoyed the fifth, Trials Of Death.
