tough question...
I like the 996 based 911 GT2
other favorites are the '07 GT3 RS and any 993 based 911 (the 959 also comes to mind)

Tough question, as there are many qualities to judge! Having had the luck to recently try a GT3RS at the track, I would happily say this is without a doubt, the best all around car Porsche has yet made. But to an extent, much of the performance has come at a slight cost to character, which make it hard to consider as a "favorite." Likewise, the technical WOW of the Carrera GT is amazing, and that has a sound you could quickly fall in love with... but when seen sitting next to a 934, the later has something brutal which is just more dramatic.
For me, it would have to be a car that is aimed at driving... less frills, more performance. And it should have a certain classic character that evokes both the history of the marquee, and the things that make it what it is. For me, this narrows to a short list of the 993RS and the 911RS (for street cars), and the 962 and 908/3 (for racecars... the 917/30 an obvious choice here, but I think the shorter wheelbase 908 is more reflective of Porsche's overall design and aim).
If I were to choose just one Porsche for racing or street, it would have to be something like the original 911RS, or the RSR - doing both well. But looking at just street, the newer 993RS is absolutely beatutiful and has performance to equal it's looks. And while not quite as legendary as it's earlier namesake, the fact is that it exceeds it's abilities by leaps and bounds, while still keeping the classic feel that I find somewhat lacking in the newest versions.
For track, it has to be the 962! Most successful car ever, and one that would essentially come out of retirement in 1994, years after it's prime, to win Le Mans one last time!

There are two:
1) 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder.
There were only about 75 made & only about 50 survive to this day. It's the car James Dean died in. It's just a beautiful car & amazingly powerful for a 4 cylinder.
2) 1973 Porsche 911RS.
The ultimate 911 experience. This is what a race car is supposed to drive like. Forget onboard electronics & power steering. The first year of the turbo.

The 959 is a very close second to the 917. I remember the first time I saw the movie 'LeMans' with Steve McQueen tearing around in a 917. It still makes my pulse race when I see one.
Need I say more?

993 GT2 Clubsport.
pretty much a road going racecar, incredibly brutal and fast, super awesome looking.
Im looking to try to figure out how to get a 993 GT2 into the states legally currently. They never sold them here so its a bit of a pain.
edit: Thats streetcars only, for racecars, the 917k (in gulf livery), the 934 and 935 moby dick (in martini colors) are my favorites. So brutal/awesome/beautiful.
