Because we've known about our Moon's existence since prehistoric times, whereas the other planets' moons were all discovered less than 400 years ago. There was no reason to give our Moon a disinctive name, because we didn't know of any other moons.
Incidentally "Luna" and "Selene" are never used in scientific astronomy.

The Greeks known because it Selene, from which the Latins have been given Luna (they dropped the 1st syllable). whether, astronomers infrequently use something different than Moon (with a capital M). at some point, I jokingly proposed that in view that our sunlight is named sunlight and our moon is named Moon, then our own planet must be called Planet. Names of planets come from Greek mythology, even however we've observed the Latinized version of the names of the Greek gods for which they have been named: Helios = Appolo (sunlight-god) Hermes = Mercury Aphrodite = Venus Gaia = Terra Selene = Luna Ares = Mars Zeus = Jupiter Chronos = Saturn Names of satellites have been taken from Greek mythology (apart from the satellites of Uranus, taken from English litterature). We have been given caught with "Moon", which aspects us "month" (the era taken for the Moon to pass with the aid of its stages). If we've been to "rename" the Moon, i think of we ought to constantly persist with custom (the Latinized call of the linked Greek goddess) and use Luna.

The Moon is it's name. The "moons" of other planets are technically called satellites. We call them "moons" for the same reason some people call any kind of soda "coke". They were like the object we called the "moon" so we called these other objects "moons". If you want to be more precise, call them satellites.
