I've been looking/asking all over and I have yet to find or hear of a method that works best. So far, I've laid out the rat poison and my landlord just gave me those electronic emitters. Any other suggestions????

I had a problem with field mice. The only thing that worked for me was Decon.

Better yet find out what is bringing them in the house. They have found a way in which is problem 1. Are they finding something to eat in your house?
I once found a pile of cat food under a stairway closet that was never used. Make sure open boxes/ containers of stuff in your cupboards are closed. Try to find signs of mice chewing through packaging. Get plastic tubs, container, or tins for such items. Many things they will get into that are OPEN.
They will leave if you dont feed them. LOL
Look for places they may get into the home. If it is an apartment or rental make the owner take care of it. If they refuse or do not take care of it call your state Housing Developement Authority. And if they try to evict you, start calling your state again. These people deserve to be fined.

TOSS THE ELECTRONICS. DOESN'T WORK. GET ABOUT 4 GLUE TRAPS AND PUT A SMALL DAB OF PEANUT BUTTER IN THE CENTER. I ONCE CAUGHT A DOZEN IN ONE TRAP OVERNIGHT. IT'S TRUE-IT WAS IN A WAREHOUSE. BE SURE AND SEAL ANY HOLES IN WALLS AND AROUND PIPES. ELIMINATE HOLES EVEN WITH JUST TAPE AND A CAN TOP(FROM A CAN OPENER). A LITTLE BIT OF ATTENTION AND YOUR DONE SHORTLY. TOSS THE TRAP AND MICE IN A TRASH CAN TO DISPOSE. DON'T USE POISON AND HAVE TO LIVE WITH THAT ROTTEN ODER FOR A WEEK OR TWO. AND THEN THE LAST TWO WONT TOUCH THE POISON BECAUSE THEY SAW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHERS WHEN THEY ATE IT.

The best ones are spring mouse traps baited with peanut butter. That is what professional use. The worst are those glue boards because no mouse ever seems to fall for them.

USE HUMANE TRAPS! NOT RAT POISON! :-( also rat poison is not very affective and causes uneeded suffering! use mothballs!
