I wasn't a regular barefooter yet when I rode horses, but if it was cold in winter sometimes I'd ride sock-footed and without stirrups. The rubber riding boots would be very cold, using those stiff boots and holding my legs/feet still in the stirrups, my toes would get totally numb. When I'd take them off and let my feet go free they'd warm up... but as I said I was still wearing socks, not all barefoot.

Yes when I visit my folk's farm. I am always barefoot there (because I do not bring any footwear with me) I love to ride horses and doing it barefoot makes it more enjoyable.

Absolutely! There's no other way to ride a horse bareback! Total freedom! It's really awesome in a swim suit running along the beach in the surf!

I ride my horse all the time barefoot - i've told you that before.
I love the feel of steel on the ball of my heel.
