The drinking age is 21.......Why is is so high? Im an 18 year old college freshmen and the reasons i drink vodka and beer every weekend are because i love to get buzzed, and because i want to break the so called legal drinking age....The highest legal drinking age in the world i might add...maybe all the fun would be taken out of drinking if the age was lowered...

im answering as a smoker not a drinker and i think the drinkin age should be higher people in general are ignorant and they dont know how to limit them selfs and they become reckless.(acting without judgment)i always though if the got rid of beer and just kept real alcahol(vodka,scotch,rum) they could abolish that whole law. i personaly only feel "goood" with the real sh*t, beer makes me naucious but anyway... "give up the suds and go green" you might not have this problem anymore

Years ago - 18 year olds showed that they were not mature enough to handle the responsibility of consuming alcohol. So the legal age to drink was raised.
Your entry here shows that the maturity level of today's 18 year olds has not improved and the legal drinking age needs to remain at 21.

its 21 here...new york....its that everywhere in the U.S i believe its too high...even my mom agrees. She thinks this because when she was younger it was 18 and she was allowed to drink and have fun with her friends there...honestly...teenagers are going to drink anyway...theres not really a big difference between 18 and 21 so they should lower it back to 18 i know drinking and driving is a problem but once ur 16 MOST teenagers have drank soo either way there will always be drunk driving no matter what...as horrible as that seems. im 15 and i drink sometimes...15 might be young but 21 is way too old. they should def lower it oh and i agree with the second persons answer....if we are allowed to vote, & fight for our country then why shouldnt we be allowed to drink until 21? thats insane.

Please tell that to all the under aged kids that DRANK, and DIED. Or THey KILLED someone else. Explain it to their parents also will ya please.
You body is still maturing. Unfortunately your brain has stopped. Even Adults have a hard time with drinking. All it does is get you STUPID enough, to forget your problems for 1 night, and take a chance on destoying your life forever. Your in college why?

they ( the US) need you to be sober when they ship you off to die for some worthless cause. then once there they will get you addicted to expiremental drugs and prostitutes then they bring you back home and abandon you. this way when you come back you wont know your head from your butt and will drink yourself into oblivion.
