Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by james Patterson.
I don't remember if I actually cried or not, but it makes you want to cry.
The movie is not near as good as the book, so if you have seen the movie and didn't like it, read the book anyway. The movie shortened some things (like the time frame of the book), simplified a few other things, and changed a few other things so that the adaptations would make sense. The book is definitely better.
The movie doen't make you want to cry. The book does.

Lots of books have made me cry, but it's usually a case where I could cry and read at the same time. Kira Kira is a book that I read about a year ago that made me cry so hard that I had to put the book down and just bawl. When I was about 13 (quite a few years ago) The Summer of my German Soldier was the one that made me cry that hard.

New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. it felt like my heart got torn out and stepped on when Edward left Bella and told her he didn't want her. my stomach actually dropped, and i felt really sick. I seriously cried for Two hours, and i rushed to the end of the book to make sure they were together in the end. I felt so depressed. Just thinking about it makes me teary eyed. I knew it's only a books but man, it was so sad. ( these are Best most extraordinary books on the planet, i couldn't live without them)
And Where the Red Fern grows, it was so heartbreaking when when his dogs died, and he had worked so had to get them and loved them with all his heart. And when the @nd dog dies because his true love passed away.
And Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, When Fred died i just lost it,lol.

Two books that I've read in the last year that made me cry were The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans and The Christmas Jar by Jason Wright. Both are very good books, very well written.

My wife wrote a young adult book - titled "Dear Diary: Remember Me" and writing the final chapter made her cry.
She sent it to her editor in New York and she cried! Believe me it has to be sad to make a hardened editor cry! Then she got back the proof pages before the book was published and she cried agan when she read the ending! I asked her why she was crying since she had written all the words herself and she said that the character was such a wonderful person. She felt awful about how the book had to end.
You should have read the emails we got from teenage girls around the world who read this book.

*Oh, I absolutly balled for Where the Red Fern Grows
*Cried a little for Fever 1793
*Sobbed until I started laughing at how ridiculously hard I was crying during Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -
It was kind of like Dane Cook's version of crying

Actually, when I read Vector Prime (the first installment in a 19 book long Star Wars series called the New Jedi Order) I absolutely couldn't control myself from crying when (and this is REALLY tough!!!!) Chewbacca dies! THAT by far was THE saddest moment in a book I have EVER read!
