Nasa - cracked on with various of these in the early days- 'project high water' let a whole body of water loose in space - heaven knows what they were up to... but I am sure that their website will give you an in road.

Nothing that is organic survives/lives in space. Out there only the basic ingredients of life exist. Just the basic elements that this world and others allow to mix. Bit like all the things you need to make a cake but you'll never make one out there. I'm no scientist but space will destroy all life as we know it :) good and bad.
