Hey, what exactly is occuring when you say, "kicked off"? Because Netscape being a browser and all it shouldn't be kicking you off, it shouldn't be able to do so, you are not logged into Netscape, simply using it as a portle to the Internet.

Do you actually mean it is crashing, or is it simply not displaying webpages? If this is what you meant, then yeah, firewall settings can interfere in your connection, but they shouldn't be doing so. XP Firewall's default settings allow for browsers to interact with the Internet. However, open XP Firewall, and go into advanced settings and check to see if your Netscape is allowed connections, it should be set at Incoming and Outgoing. If it is not, then configure it to do so.

There are other issues which can affect webpages not showing up or not being displayed in your browser. If your using a Wireless connection you can try a Repair, if there is a red X over your connections icon down in the notification area. If there isn't a red X over the connection, try rebooting your modem. Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Wait for it to boot up, then try connecting again to a website. If it is still not working, unplug both your modem and router, unplugging the router first and then the modem. Then plug the modem in first and the router second, only after the modem has fully booted up and all shows green in the LCD displays if it has them. If not, wait for about fifteen minutes, taht should cover most modems need to boot up, then plug in the router and reboot the computer. Then try to display a web page.

Good luck and I hope you get your issue fixed soon. Have a nice day.
