Are you clicking the Apply button after setting the security level you want? I know it sounds like such a little thing, and usually just clicking OK should do it, but if you make a change on one page of Internet Options, you must click Apply if you wish to make the changes persistant before clicking on a different tab in the options or any options dialog box.

It is also possible that somebody has setup the system to discard all configuration changes when the system reboots, or is turned off and then back on. Some offices do this and some parents do so as well. If this is the case the only thing you can do is talk to the person in charge of system settings.

Good luck and have a nice day.

Have you recently downloaded or aquired via a Windows Update the new Internet Explorer 7?

The default security setting in the internet zone for IE-7 is medium-high.

It is strongly recommended that the settings in the internet zone NOT be lowered below the default. If you are having a problem with a certain website that will not render correctly, the best and most secure solution is to place that particular site in the trusted zone.

I updated to it about 2 months ago and have had no problems with it. All it is really is a security upgrade to plug some of the holes IE 7 had. Nothing spectacular! I do find it's a bit faster although I always disable all the junk on it like Feeds, Tabs, Web Slices, In Private and Phishing because they are the things that slow any browser down.
