Last month was my first IUI and I feel like I am going to have my period soon. I am 28 years old and everything is fine with me. Dr put me on clomid to increase mu chances and my progesterone numbers were great on day 21. My husband is the one with the problem. 20% percent of his sperm swim forward but he has a good count. I was very hopeful for this IUI but did not work. I am getting discouraged to keep trying because IUI and clomid were painful What do you think?

Hi, I understand what you are feeling, I too experienced failed attempts at IUI and clomid. The roller coaster of fertility treatments, where each month is a pass fail, comes with so much emotional and physical draining. For me it has been my biggest challenge in life. I too wondered if I should go on and all I had to decide is, do I want a child of my own, Yes - so I go on.
After IUI, I tried repronex, then tried gonal F, I just recently had my first Failed IVF. TAlk about depression, it is not easy to bounce back emotionally after IVF. It is good you know the cause of your fertility issue. I fall within the 5% that is unknown, but as I do myself, I also encourage you to keep trying. I am not going to tell you any of it is easy, because it is not, but the end result is worth it. During IVF I had 4 shots a day, 10 pills a day, for a few weeks back to back... trust me, it is NOT easy but you stay committed. Dont' give up. Try not to blame your husband and just encourage him to take his fertily blend vitamins or whatever other recommendations the Dr gave. Keep him off the bike, spas, etc. Stay positive, you don't need the stress.
Ok, enough story writing. Best wishes!

For the record a women has a 20-25% chance of conceiving each month not 10%. Here something to keep your hopes up with my 1st two kids I kept feeling like my period was going to come so there is still some hope.

There are always two sides of a coin.

While you may look at this as a disappointment, you should be able to take encouragement that there are a lot of couples with greater obstacles to overcome, who can successfully have children.

Talk with your doctor because you have a lot of options, are still young and near your peak of fertility.

even with a couple who has no fertility issues there is still only a 10% chance of concieving each month. Give it another go, if you can afford it.
