Using earphones with the back off?

I need to buy a new pare, but the back has fallen off one so the inside is exposed, is that potentially dangerous in anyway? Thanks.

it might give you an annoying (and somewhat painful) static shock in dry air like winter, but other than that will do no harm. The same happens with some in-ear earbuds like mine.
