Write Down the equation first
3x/2 = 1/4
Multiply both sides by 2
3x/2*2 = 1/4*2
which gives you
3x=1/4 *2 or 3x=1/2
divide both sides by 3
3x/3 = 1/2 /3
which gives you x = 1/2 / 3 or 1/6
which is your final answer.
Good luck,
Z

Multiply 3x/2 by 2/2 so both sides of your equation will have the same denominator:
6x/4 = 1/4
6x = 1
x = 1/6

multiply both by 2
you get
3x=1/8 (because 1/4*2=1/8)
multiply by 1/3
x (because 3*1/3=1/3 or 1)
x=1/24

You have to undo everything that was done to 'x'. If you look, x was multiplied by three and then divided by two. Start with that division. You multiply both sides by two (because whatever you do on one side directly effects the other) to undo the division. Then you undo the multiplication by... And I think you should be good to go on solving it. ^_^ Good luck!
