I think it's about time. There is no known deaths from marijuana use and its been proven that the long term effects of alchohol and tobacco are worse. Then why are they legal and marijuana is not?

Marijuana should be regulated and taxed; the government can actually profit from it.

Why isn't it legalized already?

Yes, in many other countries it is legal, it is used for medicinal purposes in the US. And I think it is about time. I believe that Marijuana is completely natural and normal and spiritual. Many christians beleive it is wrong but they don't know **** because God created Marijuana along with all the other plants and when He was done He said it was good. And that's in the freaking Bible so don't nobody go back on that. My favorite author, Leo Tolstoy, way up there with Shakespeare, made references to Marijuana use in Russia as a normal thing many years ago when he wrote the book. When will people get over their fear of our God given plant and learn to love nature.

If tobacco and alcohol is legal, I think marijuana should be legal as well. It doesn't harm you any more than tobacco or alcohol. It doesn't have the harmful and addictive properties of, say, heroin, crack or meth. I think that the government and business operators could make a lot of money if pot was legalized and taxed. The violence of the marijuana black market would be neutralized and people would no longer be put in jail for possessing pot, which I think is a pretty dumb reason to be incarcerated in our already overcrowded prisons.

If I had a vote, I'd definitely vote to legalize marijuana.

I kinda agree with you. I mean you never heard of someone smoking weed and doing a drive by. Or overdosing on it (though I might be wrong here) It can be used for medicinal proposes and like you said the government can profit from it. But then we might have to many smoking it up. Second hand smoke now would not only hurt people standing by it would get them high. So then you have to think about all of these high people walking around. Think of all the bags of chips people would be eating, this could add to our obesity rate....Ok I'm just kidding about that but really you have to think about it. You say alcohol and tobacco are worse, but yet marijuana can mess your brain up too. Can probably even mess up your lungs. I mean with alcohol sure you could die sooner (serosis of the liver, or drinking-drive-get in a crash and die) and tobacco will no doubt give you a chest full of black tar but its not like marijuana won't have side-effects either. Maybe with more research it would be legalized but for now you are just going to have to stick with smoking it in your basement.

mutually as I do have self assurance legalizing marijuana and having the government sell it to pay off somewhat some debt may well be a sturdy thought, i'm no longer some liberal pansy such as you who beverages Obama's kool-help and thinks he's the king of black human beings. he can no longer legalize weed, he's stated it in interviews. recover from it.

It should at least be decriminalized so we'd have room to keep the criminals that are a threat to others in prison for their whole sentence term. The money saved could be used for our underfunded human services department to help out children in distress.
