Most bank branches have one on staff. Go to your bank and tell them you need something notarized. You will need to bring ID with you so that the notary can verify that you are who you say you are.

Who is a Notary Public depends on where you live> (In Manitoba for instance 99% of Notaries are lawyers) in some places it is much easier to be a Notary.

Look in your local yellow pages for Notaries or call lawyers offices. The charge to Notarize a document varies but ranges from about 25- 50$. Take your original serial number with you, they will copy it and sign the copy affirming that the copy is true and correct with the original.

A notary public is a person sworn in that can say documents are what they say they are: signed by the person. I am a notary and applied to the state and county to get it. I have a stamp and can notarize documents. How that works and what you pay depends on the state. Look in your yellow pages. Any lawyer can notarize something, but there are many notaries who are not lawyers.

Brian is right. And most of the time if you go to a bank where you have an account they will not charge you anything.
