Zoraster the Ancient Chaldean?
Adam and Eve?
Gork the caveman?

No one knows the name of the first human to look up and name the brightest stars in the sky.

The ancient Babylonian/Chaldean peoples had astronomers and astrologers who wrote their thoughts in stone (literally), but there are very few names associated with these writings.

E. E. Barnard, for one. In 1916 he discovered a star which is named after him, Barnard's Star. It is interesting for two reasons. First, it is very near to the Sun; the only stars which are nearer are the three stars of the Alpha Centauri system (A, B, and Proxima). Secondly, it is the star in the sky with the greatest proper motion, which means that it is moving faster across our line of sight than any other star we can see.

Edward Emerson Barnard discovered Barnard's star. But most stars were not "discovered" any more than the Sun was discovered. For example, Joseph-Jérôme Lefrançais de Lalande compiled a catalog of 47,390 stars. But did he "discover" them. Not really.

They have had ordinary, common, everyday nomes like Sam, Bob, Dave, and Wiilhelmina. Pretty much all of the start which can be seen by he unaided eye were named long ago.
