hi denzle
sounds good to me dude, the core 2 duo is a competent processor and the 250gb hard drive should be enough
however the radeon x1300 is the low point of this p.c,although a good desktop card its not very good for gaming, the x1650pro is a better choice or if you can afford it the x1950xt,a awesome card
vista basic,s not too bad but remember you will not get the aero 3d effects with basic, this is only avalible with vista premium and ultimate
if you want shear power ,then for the same price the mesh Elite Power Quad from http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=52002 is a amazingly powerful beast of a p.c
just take a look at these specs.......................
Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor(2.4GHz,8MB Cache,1066MHz)
Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium Edition
New MESH Midi-TowerATX Case + 550W PSU
PCI-Express Mainboard - SLI nForce 650i SLI(C55) - Intel Core 2 Duo/Quad-Core - ATX
1GB DDR2 667MHz Memory - (2x512MB)
250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive with 16MB Buffer
LightScribe Super Format 18x Dual Layer DVD Writer +R/-R/RW/RAM
256MB nVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT - DVI, HDTV, TV-Out
5.1 High Definition onboard sound card - 6 Channel Cinema sound
Free Microsoft® Works® 8.5 + 60 Days Microsoft Office Trial
Free Cyberlink Video Editing Suite - 7 titles (oem)
2x IEEE1394 Firewire (onboard)
1x Gigabit LAN (onboard)
Multi-format Memory Card Reader (matx)
for £549 this is a excellent p.c and with the latest quad core cpu and 256MB nVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT graphics this will play any game you throw at it,throw in a amazing 1GB DDR2 667MHz Memory and a 250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive you have a future proof p.c and a great performer
however this dosent come with a monitor, but you could use your current one,and maybe buy one at a later date
hope this helps, any problems let me know
good luck denzle !

Hello,
(ANS) I'm talking from personal experience, there is nothing wrong with buying a DELL machine. I bought a Dell Precision 330 workstation that runs windows XP pro beautifully, my system runs like a server. It runs 24/7 & has done for the last 5 years.
I have helped ten people purchase machines from DELL and not a single person has ever complained nor have any of these people had technical problems with there systems.
**NOTE:- I definitely DON'T recommend Windows Vista in any shape or form at all, Vista is Microsoft bloat-ware. Vista has a massive foot print and requires huge hardware resources to run it at anything like reasonable performance. The user interface is horrible with all that stupid eye candy, & makes vista look more like a child's toy than a serious operating system.
**Also bear in mind that you cannot put windows vista on older XP hardware and expect it to work well, if you do attempt this as I did you will be bitterly disappointed as the performance is dreadful. Vista wont cut the mustard on older hardware.
**Dell system specifications have jumped and prices dropped because of an increase in global market competition. I was amazed what £1,000 will buy me now at DELL not that I'm looking to change my machine as I am perfectly contented with what I have.
**YES! the above specification is fine for the price just don't buy it with vista pre-installed as your operating system. I would only buy this system if it included windows XP Pro.
Hope that helps?
Kind Regards Ivan
