WHO is this song about?

whats the flower you have on?
could it be a faded rose from days gone by?
and did I hear you say
he was a-meeting you here today ?
to take you to his masion in the sky?

She's forty-one and her daddy still calls her "baby"
All the folks around Brownsville say she's crazy
'Cause she walks around town with a suitcase in her hand
Looking for a mysterious dark-haired man

I'm just winging it so I hope I have lyrics right

Aw. It's one of my favorites from Helen Reddy -- Delta Dawn. It's a sad song, don't you think?

Delta Dawn

-Artist: Helen Reddy from "Helen Reddy's Greatest Hits":

Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on?
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?
And did I hear you say he was a-meetin' you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky-eye?

She's forty-one and her daddy still calls 'er "baby"
All the folks 'round Brownsville say she's crazy
'cause she walks downtown with her suitcase in her hand
Lookin' for a mysterious dark-haired man

In her younger days they called her Delta Dawn
Prettiest woman you ever laid eyes on
Then a man of low degree stood by her side
Promised her he'd take her for his bride

delta dawn

The song is about, "Delta Dawn" sung by Tanya Tucker in the late seventy's. You got every word right.
In her younger days, they called her Delta Dawn.
Prettiest girl you ever laid eyes upon.
One of the great songs of days gone by, and Tanya did a splendid job singing it.
And to answer your question, can you take one more song?
I could take thousand more like this one. Keep sending them..
