Should your 2nd video card upgrade match the ram currently on the manufactors card ? our?

I am currently running dual monitors (2) .Gateway installed card is 128MB. Can the added card exceed this or does it need to match or be lower than this ram.The second card is 16mb. on board ram and while it functions not all 3d graphics menus and options work off the added monitor.

It shouldn't matter what the amount of RAM is on the second card. But, since it is only 16MB I'm assuming it is a pretty old card. It might not support the 3D options that you want it to.
