I pulled like a 13 or 14 yo girl out of the surf in New Smyrna beach years ago. Her uncle was trying to save her but just about drowned himself (he was a big guy so I was very careful when I swam up to him) but said he could get back in by himself. I swam out next to the girl (she was no small girl) and made eye contact with her and watched her thrash, when I saw in her eyes she was giving up and starting to slip under I swam up and jerked her as hard as i could under her arm and side kicked in with her...It was a great feeling...the family was so gracious, I was a hero for everyone standing around on the beach...there were no life guards where we were that day.

i had taken this cpr and first aid class and a week later while i was babysitting a 2 yo he was eating lunch, and when i turned around to pour his juice he was fine, i turned back around and the kid was purple. choking on something. so i did the heimlich while calling 911. then he wasn't breathing so i did rescue breathing till the ambulace got there. they said i saved his life.

When I was a cop I did CPR on a couple of people, did the Heimlich maneuver on an elderly lady who was choking on a nasty piece of boiled chicken and yanked a lady off of a bridge who was going to jump.
It does make you feel really good to do that, but the best part was the kid who was a 5th grader that I did CPR on and now he's grown up, married and a college graduate.
I have to give the credit to God though, because I was lucky enough to be sent to do those things and help people.
I loved being a cop and enjoyed the heck out of the 21 years I did it.

I saved a little girl from falling off monkey bars that were really high up. She would've broken her leg or worse, if she fell off. So I put my arms around her waist and told her to let go, and put her safely on the ground. I'm taking a Safety & First Aid course in college right now so I can be trained to provide care if the need arises.

I have saved 4 children's lives by not getting an abortion and giving them a chance at life.

When my daughter was born at 24 wks (16 wks early) I didn't give up hope that she would survive and she is 5 now.
