Which history events famous or not so famous, can you mention of the past, where nobody lived to tell but we still now days somehow know that happend

CSS Hunley.

The confederates actually built a submarine during the civil war. The crew sat on benches that faced a crank that ran through the axis of the boat, and turned a propeller. The vessel was lost on it's first and only mission. The wreck was only discovered about ten years ago.
