And the ashes have gotten rubbed in..Is there anyway to get rid of it or lighten it?..It looks terrible...Big black spot....The more I vaccum it...It looks worse....

I have cleaned it with a carpet cleaner...And it looked better for a short period of time...But looks worse when I vaccum

You can try the following:
Spot Shot Stain Remover
or
OxyClean
Either one does a really good job of getting rid of soot stains. Read the directions and DO NOT RUB the stain.

do not use anything store bought try calling steamatic or some carpet cleaner ash is very hard to get out do not use spot shot or anything like

ashes are just like dirt basically, it should come out all the way if you just shampoo it
