The problem is that I really don't have the other 40% to cover things and there is not a cap on the amount I have to pay plus the $1,500 deductable. Is there any way I can get assistance on paying these costs. By the way Humana1 is a bad insurance plan and I would advise against it.

monkeyundermypillow- We both work and make good money, but I am not sure how I will toss out 10k if I need to. If you have that kind of money laying around then congrats, but many of us don't. We got sahfted by her insurance and there is no need to be so rude.

My OB has setup payment plans, luckily I don't have to cover near as much, but most of them are very understanding and the last thing they want is to stress your wife out. Check with the doctor and see what other ideas they may have if you think a payment plan is just not an option. Best of Luck!

To "monkeyundermypillow" (whatever that means):
Can't you be a little nicer?
Wow. You having a bad day or something? The man was just asking a logical question. At least he has insurance for Heaven's sake.
It's horrible to see there are people out there as rude as you.

To you who is expecting a baby... good luck. We are expecting one too. I wish I could help you with the insurance question. I just had to respond to her.
I'm sorry she was nasty.....
I hope things work out well for you guys!

MONKEY: The world isn't perfect. People have children all the time when they aren't completely financially stable. And you know what? People make it! People do it all the time! This guy was on here for a little advice. Not to be laughed at and made felt like an idiot. Please just try to have a little more courtesy, that's all. From one first time preg to another.
You wouldn't want your child treating someone this way when they're your age would you?
Good luck to you

Please read the answers you were already given. Some trolls on here will report you for posting the same question more than once.
Monkey: How did you become a top contributor with answers like that? Have a little sympathy. My husband and I have a lot of medical debt, so does that mean that we should not have had children. NO. So keep your trap shut when you don't understand the circumstances!

That is a large deductable but depending on your guys income you can apply for medical threw DSS (Department Social Services) other then that I don't really know maybe a loan from your bank to pay for it then pay the loan back in time.

you can make payment arangements with the hospital most of the time. my mom is still paying off my sisters broken arm and that happened 8 years ago. just talk to them, also if you have low income there are usually forms to fill out, but you HAVE to ask about them, they are never offered up front. also talk to DHS, they may also be able to help you out. good luck!

Should have worn a condom if you cannot afford a child. If you cannot afford the birth, let alone what this child will need thoughout their life your in alot of trouble! Assistance on paying for the costs?! What you want tax payers to pay the rest or something?!

To Julie H:
What is wrong with you? Truth hurt? It's true! What the hell is he doing having a baby when he can't afford it? Should have looked into everything his insurance company covers BEFORE he had the baby, wouldn't that make sense?!

I had Humana insurance and it covered almost all of it. Hmmmm. Oh well.

You must tell the hospital about your financial situation and they can help you. You HAVE to talk to them though. They won't help if you don't ask.
