In the middle of last night, I woke up and felt like I was outside of my body.
I laid flat on my back and could hear this humming noise.
I also could hear my breathing and see my shoulder as if I was slightly behind me...
I wasn't scare at all.
As a matter of fact...it felt amazing.

I wasn't dreaming...
I had deliberate conscious thoughts.
But I did not have good control over my state.
It reminded me of those pictures that you look at crossed-eyed to see the hidden image.
In other words, I could hold this state for so long...my natural incline was to let it go...

Does this make sense to anyone?
What was this?
Was I hypnotizing myself?
In any event, I made some very positive suggestions to myself while in this state :-)

One night,
while sitting at the bar,
looking in the mirror
I see someone looking back at me,
and there is no one sitting next to me.
Well,
who could the person be?
I wondered.
And you know,
He looked alot like me.

I have director's skills in all my thoughts. I see myself outside myself 24/7 365. It is just the way things are. I can't say I talk to myself but I see myself and in my dreams I control myself, cut to black and reset the situations so that I always get the girl, never get hacked to death, and to emphasize it always get the girl. I also do long problems in my mind, write stories, and see the endless possibilities of life, in this manner. I would not call this hypnotism. I would call it a form of introspection that allows us to shape the day the way we want it to be. And the humming noise was probably me going Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm all the time. Eventually my answers have that effect on people. Or it could be your cricket. Perhaps your inner toad. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrbit___Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrbit___Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrbit.

Wow I haven't thought about that in a long time. Same thing where my body was lifted from my head to upper chest. I saw things I could have only seen by sitting up in bed. There were three monks walking next to my bed. They had hoods over their heads. It scared me then next I knew I was back in my body and I felt really cold from my head to chest....then everything disappeared. In the following months I had three family members die....I often wondered if I were to be the next one to leave this earth...But I am still here after 23 years of the occurrence. It's a freaky feeling...Best of Luck to You

This happened to me a lot years ago. Unlike you I was scared, you are very mature in your outlook and more spiritual than many other people. Now that I am older and alone again, I am going to develop my psychic side more and do lucid dreaming again... Life and Time will probably show you, too, that you have these abilities to do amazing things...
All the best :)

It happens a lot to me. Then again I think that the sleep meds have something to do with it.
