Yes they can. Some babies will start having teething pain up to 6 months before a tooth even pops up. I just met a lady last week that has a 2 month-old and her baby had teeth buds coming in at birth. It is rare, but it does happen. Get her Hyland's Teething Tablets. They are all natural and disolve in baby's mouth. I gave these and Infant Tylenol at bedtime to my son and he slept all night through the teething.

nawing on things, at her age, is generally just a sign of 'discovering' the world around her, not teething. Babies use taste/mouthing items as a way of learning about them, and it also satisfied their suckle instincts.

Teething generally starts in the 5-7 month range, however, that doesn't mean its IMPOSSIBLE, as SOME babies have teethed that early. Its just a lot less likely.

If she had her shots in the last 48 hours and is fussy, it can be a symptom of vaccinations, and will go away within a day or two.

Some babies are born with the showing of a tooth. So yes, you could say that teething is purely individual and can start early or very late like my son; 7 months.

yep, your baby can definently be teething. my cousins son was born with a tooth, my sisters son had his first tooth at 4 months. my son on the other hand got his first tooth at 8 1/2 months and the next one the following weeks. babies can start teething at ANY age! good luck its a terror sometimes! give the baby cold teethers, towels to bite on, get some teething gel and calpol. go tot he doctors for more information on things that can help sooth your baby.

although you may not actually see a tooth for a few months.. the teething process begins way before a tooth shows up.. get some baby oragel and see if that helps..

3mths seems early to be teething...although I do remember the drooling starting that early. Noah's teeth didn't arrive until he was 6mths. Now, at 9mths, he has 7, almost 8teeth.
