Yes, no problem. We have two turtles in a 3 foot tank. They've been together for years in that tank. We are now looking for a bigger tank because they have gotten so big, but they get along fine and even play with each other.

It would not be appropriate to put it with a turtle. What would be easiest for her is to get a little 5 gallon kit (minimum 2.5), a few silk or real plants, and a heater if it doesn't include one. She should change about 20% of the water once a week using a gravel siphon (she can find this with the other fish stuff at the pet store), and adding new water that has been dechlorinated with water conditioner (like Stress Coat). The water should stay in the upper 70s F, when she adds new water she should make sure that it's the same or very close to the temperature in the tank. Feeding it twice a day is fine, but she has to be careful not to overfeed. Skipping one day a week is also healthy for the betta. On that day she can feed him a little bit of a peeled pea (they can get constipated as weird as it sounds). She should feed him a pellet specifically for bettas, and can supplement his diet with treats like bloodworms, brineshrimp, tubifex worms, etc. These can easily be found freeze dried as well as frozen.

well to my knowledge you may put two turtles in the same tank my daughter has two small ones in a small lilttle tank with rocks and such and they get along fine.If the turtles are of the same species, but it is extremely rare for larger turtles to kill smaller ones. the problem is that they have an inherent instinct that helps to ensure the survival of the species. I have found that larger turtles may attack smaller turtles of a different species, either in combat or for food. For this reason, you should never mix turtle species in a habitat without paying careful attention to the difference in their sizes.

It really depends on the size of the original turtle. If he is considerably larger than the new one, then I would be very careful. If he is about the same age/size, then he should be okay. Either way, I would introduce him slowly and watch them very carefully for a while to make sure all goes okay. I Have three living together and they do just fine.

They will get along fine as long as there is PLENTY of room for both. Crowding will cause a lot of stress, aggression, etc.

Yeah, depending on their size, species and gender they should get along just fine.
